Designed to challenge the conventional approach to trail running shoes, the Trail Berzerker embraces a ‘one gesture’ approach. Wrapping 360° around the foot, a simple dot graphic transitions from an abrasion resistant PU casting, protecting the forefoot from any obstacle, to perforations on the vamp and mid-foot for climate control, breathability as well as flexibility.
Within the fitness world, walking usually does not get the credit it deserves. If done properly, and done often, the benefits can be just as impressive as those gained through sportier, trendier, and ‘cooler’ regimes.
In the same light, walking footwear often conjures up images that are less than inspiring. What has passed as a walking shoe yesterday does not satisfy today‘s athletic consumer, leading them in search of a more desirable solution.
A strong walking shoe must not only meets the stylistic needs of the consumer, it must jump off the shelf and be noticed. To be taken seriously, beyond the ‘first-feel’, performance must outshine the competition.
Great forefoot flexibility, solid mid-foot support, and the right outsole geometry that promotes a smooth transition through all phases of the gait pattern are just the start. Introduce ultimate comfort into the equation and you have EASYWALK.
WITH A FOCUS ON SUPPORT, ATTENTION TO BOTH INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR MOLDING IS GIVEN. THE DIFFERENT THICKNESSES OF TRANSLUCENT MATERIAL HIGHLIGHT THIS FEATURE.
Designed with the Japanese market in mind, the Zig Nano Central takes notes from casual fashion and joins it with functional technology. The upper utilizes a full-grain leather body, framing a canvas panel with a directional print, mimicking it's athletic counterparts within the Zig franchise. The moc toe says 'casual' while the introduction of vibrant colors screams 'performance'.
As an update to the popular NORDIC QUEST GTX, the NORDIC QUEST GTX II came with more material play, more technical interest, but maintained all the protective characteristics required to go to market.
The asymetric toe allows for more "push-off" real estate.
A QUICK SKETCH STUDY LOOKING AT THE UPPER 'FRAMEWORK' FOR SUPPORT AND FLEXIBILITY.
THE CONCEPT I DEVELOPED INVOLVED A "DIP" IN THE BASE OF THE EYESTAY, IMPROVING FLEXIBILITY AND PROVIDING A UNIQUE AESTHETIC FOR THE CATEGORY.
ON A QUEST TO BE THE FIRST TO MAKE A GORETEX WATERPROOF SHOE WITH VISIBILITY INTO THE ONCE HIDDEN TECHNOLOGY, THIS SKETCH IS A PROPOSAL OF MY VISION. CO-MINGLING WITH THE FUNCTIONAL DNA OF THE UPPER, A 'WINDOW' INTO THE INTERNAL BOOTIE AND THE GORETEX HALLMARK IS REVEALED.
THE INITIAL PULLOVER WAS DEVELOPED FOR THIS CONCEPT UTILIZING A THICK LEATHER OUTTER LAYER, AND A STRETCH PU BASE. WITH THIS PROOF OF CONCEPT IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE CHANGING THE BASE MATERIAL TO A HUNG TEXTILE AND USING A THINNER BODY LEATHER.
IN ITS STATIONARY FORM, THE UPPER RELAXES AND FALLS. THE LEATHER UPPER IS ACTING MORE LIKE A TEXTILE.
CONCEPTUAL WORK TOWARD ADDING ARTICULATION AND STRETCH PROPERTIES TO A LEATHER UPPER. BY ENGINEERING AND STRATEGICALLY CUTTING THE LEATHER, AND ADDING A STRETCH TEXTILE 'SOCK' BASE, ULTIMATE FLEXIBILITY AND BREATHABILITY COMPLIMENT A 'GLOVE-LIKE' FIT.
THE METROPIA TRACEUR WAS AN URBAN TRAIL CONCEPT THAT WAS INSPIRED BY THE STRETCH LEATHER CONCEPT AND AESTHETIC. THIS MODEL BOASTED RUBBER FOXING THAT WRAPPED AROUND THE ENTIRE SHOE, ACTING AS AN EYESTAY AND HEEL SUPPORT WRAP. THIS CONCEPT ULTIMATELY PRECEDED THE LATER CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT.
